How did the perform? It's without a doubt the fastest single GPU in the world. That's more of an evolutionary improvement rather than the sort of upset that we often look for with these brand new architectures.
On the GPU compute front the shows far more potential. We only had a limited amount of time to test GPU compute applications, but in the benchmarks Ryan ran the performance was very good. AMD has historically not focused much on building a GPU that truly excels at general purpose computing, but with GCN and the things have clearly changed.
Power consumption is very good thanks to TSMC's 28nm process. Under load it can consume more power than its predecessor, but it ends up being more power efficient thanks to the level of performance it's able to deliver.
GPU temperatures are also quite reasonable. Assuming what we have seen is representative of mass production silicon, TSMC's 28nm process appears to be quite healthy. I don't think there are currently any 's that do this. It's a feature I would have like to have seen available with any of the big name manufacturers. A back-plate or spine would have been a very welcome edition. I can imagine over time that this card will warp slightly and I recommend bracing it with either it's power cables or some sort of jack.
This was not enough to take off an egg, as only a few manufacturers offer this feature, and none of them are at this price point. Stock clock on this card was mhz core, and without any voltage alterations I was able to hit mhz on the core. With small increases to core and memory voltage this card has happily tolerated mhz core mhz memory.
All while keeping quite cool and quiet. I switched to Sapphire's card after purchasing a far more expensive version of the when I realized I had not voltage control, the core speed was capped at and it ran really hot while doing so.
The HDMI audio works like a champ. I could not be more happy with this card. It is a really good step up from my XFX reference.
It idles at 44c, 10c lower than my Overall Review: All three games in the never settle bundle will be given with 3 individual keys after you register your first key on amd's site. Also, it has the same audio profile as my It is neither louder nor quieter relative to my Pros: Upgraded from 2 s in crossfire. No more micro-stutter! Great performance.
Games run much smoother. Plenty of overclock headroom. Overall Review: This thing is huge. Make sure you have room for it. It barely fits in my case, an antec Sold by: Newegg Shipped by Newegg.

Some even attempt to launch in portrait mode. Though, 3x1P is a shorter aspect ratio than p, so there's never stretching problems when games move into it. For the custom settings on each monitor, you'll have to leave x, and add the resolutions x, x, and x The monitors need x in the list to function at full resolution, though this number will change if your monitor is different.
The first two additions will ensure that all classic games can start up. It might be worth using p in there but, after debating it, I've found that p and p offer more compatibility as a set. These are usually just so the game can start, then any modern game will let you go to at least x, which is provided by having x available.
In 3x1P, this results in a resolution of x, but it MUST be enabled under "custom resolutions" in the Eyefinity tab of your Catalyst drivers. Through this method, there is nothing that gives me compatibility issue because of the weird resolutions provided by 5x1P. Prior to this, it was frustrating. Now that I've sorted out hacking together resolutions, everything works splendidly and I can play literally anything in my Steam library now. Before it was a lot of trial and error with the help of WSGF.
And let's not forget, you still have room for a 3D projector, which are becoming very affordable. Find me something you can't run with that setup. Didn't try to go higher. I wanted GHz Edition speeds and this card didn't disappoint! Not going to take eggs off for these. Make sure you can fit the card inside your case! Make sure that your power supply has enough watts and even more importantly enough amps on the 12V rail. This isn't a big deal for me since I'm not an extreme overclocker, but it is something to be aware of.
What I do is overclock as high as it will go on default voltages in this case GHz Edition speeds, though I didn't even try to go further , which is a completely safe way of overclocking that won't decrease the lifespan of your components. For comparison, my 4 GB GTX which came pre-overclocked at a already rather high MHz boost clock scored on the same benchmark.
The only difference here is the price that you pay for the performance you're getting. The second RMA they sent a different card refurb which still had coil whine. That's not to say that coil whine can't affect cards from Asus or MSI, but because they use higher quality components, the chances of something like coil whine happening are much lower. Pros: What can I say.
It's Cooler is very adequate with cooling. I've never seen temps near 60C. Cons: One major issue I had with the video card is that its Voltage locked. Highest I can get it is to 1. With that being said. While playing BF3 I need to have a saved settings for it to play.
For that I can run Mhz core and Mhz memory. Any other game I can run the card to the Max and be fine. Last, I ordered two of these cards for a Xfire setup.
One ended up being DOA. BSOD after the windows loading screen. For this I would've knocked off -1 egg for a DOA card. Still 5 Eggs for great customer service.
